Jeremiah 30:17 For I will restore health to you
And heal you of your wounds,’ says the Lord
I have not posted anything lately, and I apologize for being less than dutiful. My health has been an issue lately and I have not been able to concentrate on much. It's been hard enough to focus on my job. But enough whining...
I do want to express my feelings about how I am approaching my health issues. There is a lot that the doctors don't know yet, as I just recently visited with them last week. But suffice it to say, I have been experiencing some pain and discomfort in my mid-back area. Could be a pinched nerve, arthritis, or a herniated disc. I am to get an MRI today and hopefully when the doctor gets it he can determine the problem and proper course of treatment. My prayer is not to have surgery. But if it comes to that, I am good, because "God's got my back!" (pun intended). On top of that, my blood pressure has elevated quite a bit and now I am on meds to control that. But then again, God has my back!
If I just sit and wallow in my self-pity an ignore God, thinking that I can muddle through this on my own, I may end up having bigger problems with my health than I am right now. But if I choose to stay true my faith and trust God with ALL of this, I know by His word my health will be restored.
Most of my issues with health are of my own doing. I have not been taking care of myself as I should. I am man. I don't like going to the doctors. I am man. I try to ignore the pain and think it will go away on its own. I am man. Well, that's just plain no excuse.
As God promised the weeping prophet, Jeremiah, that He would restore health and heal wounds, God was saying to Jeremiah that this restoration would come to Israel IF they would turn back to God.
The promises of God are good and sure. He never writes a check He cannot cash. I am confident that God has my back. And be assured that whatever trial you may be facing today - go to Him in prayer - ask, seek and knock - He's got your back!
In Christ.
