Living in a False Sense of Security

1 Thessalonians 5:3
For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.

The news reports of wars and rumors of wars, wild weather, political, economic and social corruption, and generally bad news is spreading like a wildfire completely out of control. Not a day passes where someone is reporting some breaking news about this or that. The problem is that those kind of news reports often shed either a false sense of security, or causes panic and anxiety issues that strikes fear into the heart of the sheep like a laser-guided missile. Soon, mayhem and chaos ensues and we find ourselves in a fierce fight to just survive.

According to Scriptures, (and by the way, is the best and most reliable news source one can have these days) there is not to be any anxiety or fear in us, if we belong to Christ. For He came to this world to save us from the final outcome - that is the wrath and judgement of God. He overcame all our fears and stresses of this world when He hung on the cross to die for our sins. He further overcame all hopelessness by His resurrection from the dead three days later.

The news reports may look and sound bleak and desperate right now. They may appear as never getting better. But that is all due to the evil work of Satan. Satan wants nothing but to wreak havoc upon the earth before Christ comes back. He knows his time is short and God has allowed him to run amuck for a while.

The good news is, Jesus is coming back - and may be sooner than we think. Don't be deceived or fooled that this world and our nation is going to stop practicing evil. Jesus said before He comes back in the last days it will be like the days of Noah, when everyone will go about life as usual - status quo - carefree:

Matthew 24:36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. 37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be."

So, instead of living in fear of the future, and if Christ is your Lord and Savior, you can live with joy and peace in your heart. Regardless what this world does or goes through, stay true to your faith, and share the good news of Jesus Christ with others who are lost and living in fear or with a false sense of security.

Because, when the rapture happens and Jesus returns, it is going to catch a lot of people unaware and by complete surprise. The door of heaven will soon shut, the same way God shut the door of Noah's ark, and no one outside will be allowed in. Remember the narrow gate in Matthew 7, difficult the way and few will find it, but it leads to everlasting life!

Be aware. Be watchful. Be ready. Be born again!
