Hebrews 13:6
So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”
For the past 2 plus years, we have been living in a state of perpetual fear. This rampant fear began in 2020 with the invasion of the Wuhan virus, better known as COVID-19. Since then, some level of fear has subsided as restrictions are being lifted. But new programs of fear are being instituted in and around this nation to keep its citizens pinned down and forces us to bow at the altar of the Almighty Government.
For example, new fears are growing with the rise of inflation despite the recent passing of the new Inflation Reduction Act bill. Many critics of this bill say that it will do nothing to reduce inflation, but raise our taxes. It is also raising fear of more governmental control over the weak by yielding and implementing more power to the IRS by adding more IRS agents to go after American citizens who fall in the lower income category.
There are more things we need to be concerned about, but living in fear of these things should not be the controlling factor. We still have a living God in heaven who sees all things. He has known about these things before and ever since He created the universe. He also said these things must come to pass before the end comes, but not to be fearful of them.
Matthew 24:9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name's sake. 10 And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. 11 And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. 12 And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”
Jesus gives us some comforting words in this passage, that many, when they read them, cower in fear and dread. The comfort He offers is that the gospel is still doing its work to save even in the midst of tribulations. One thing I learned when I was born again was life never got easier, and I had to learn to trust God in all things, especially in my periods of tribulation.
For everyone reading this, please stop running and reacting in fear. We may not be able to stop the train wreck, but we can help those who are caught on the tracks from being hit. Turn to Jesus, who is the only one who save you from the destruction that is yet to come. Place your faith and trust in Christ. Believe and repent today and be filled with the Holy Spirit and He will lead you and guide you through these troubled waters.
Isaiah 43:2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.
Troubles coming may seem bad right now, but they won’t get better until Jesus returns and reclaims His rightful throne on earth. Remember this, man may cause us a lot of trouble, but God wins in the end!
2 Timothy 1:7 “… for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”
