Reliable Hope

2 Timothy 3:16-17

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

There’s not much in this world these days that we can stake our lives on. Our hope of a booming economy and good and moral decency is quickly fading. The COVID-19 scare, the mandates for masks and vaccines, the political and social unrest taking place in almost every corner of the world, as well as the sweeping crime waves that strike at the quietest of communities, have caused not only great fear, but has also developed a real lack of reliable trust in hopes of seeing anyone do anything about it.

Yet, despite all the calamity and fear mongering we witness today, and the more distrust in our government and bureaucratic system we have, there is one piece of solid ground we can all stand on – that is – the word of God.

The word of God is a complete and reliable source for all our ways of life. It provides us with profitable doctrine, correction, reproof and instruction in righteousness. But Scripture also gives us encouragement and hope that we can be equipped to do all God has commanded us to do.

Satan is busy trying to destroy all God has done in your life. He fills man’s mind with evil and plants seeds of doubt and confusion to bring our faith to ruin. He is fully aware that his time is short and will take as many to Hell with him as he possibly can before Jesus returns.

So, my friends, take heart. Be not afraid. Rely on God and His word. It’s thing only thing in this dying, rotten, and sinful world we can truly find reliable and trustworthy. For God never lets us down. His love for us never fails. And no matter what dilemma or trouble we face today, God’s grace is sufficient for all our needs, and His mercy endures forever.
