Tick, Tock...

Matthew 25:13
“Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming."

If you don't stay alert, you are going to miss it!

What am I talking about? I am talking about the Lord's return, but also talking about what's going on in the world right now. We are ever pressing forward to that time when Christ will make His return to earth and redeem His saints, and do away with Satan and sin forever!

If we remain ignorant to our surroundings, we may fall asleep at the wheel. If we refuse to pay any attention to what's on the horizon, things will certainly catch us unaware and by complete surprise.

Now, I am not advocating that we need to be glued the news, but there are so many things going on that should, at a minimum, peak our curiosity. The political upheaval, the escalating tensions between Israel and the the Middle East, wars and rumors of war, the severe weather across the globe, are all things that should at least arouse our wonder.

Yet, so many simply ignore these things. They may give it a passing glance, but take no heed or look to God for wisdom. There is a great reluctance anymore to even give God any consideration or listen to what He is trying to tell us in His word.

God is using the horrific things we are seeing to wake us up! Before His final judgment falls on the whole earth, God is giving us warnings and things to be on the alert for. We ought to be seeking Him more. we ought to be praying more. We ought to be reading about these days in His word more.

Instead, we go casually about life without a care in the world. Well my friends, if you think you can just live in this fallen world and ignore everything and turn a blind eye or deaf ear to it all, I would remind you that the same thing happened just before the flood.

For 120 years, before God sent the rains to flood the earth, time passed and words of warnings were given to the people. They ignored the warnings. They refused to hear about repentance and mocked Noah and God.

Then, the rains came, just as God promised, and after Noah and his family entered the ark, God shut the door and the people left behind perished.

Thankfully, God promised never to flood the earth again. But He is going to bring His wrath and judgement to this wicked and evil world -- soon. In the meantime, He is giving us all, ample time and take heed to strict warnings to be on the watch. For when Jesus comes back, it will be like a thief in the night, and you do not want to be left behind when He closes that door again.

Luke 17:26 And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: 27 They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.

Blessings, Tom
