John 8:8
The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed."
Is your faith strong enough to believe all Jesus has to do to bring you out of some desperate situation is just say a word over you? Well, you might be able to count yourself as faithful as the Roman centurion.
Jesus said in response to this bold statement of a pagan Roman soldier, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!"
Wow! If Jesus could say that of a pagan, who apparently lost hope in all he knew as idol worshipper, but somehow knew Jesus could do something about his situation, then what will He say about you and your faith?
It's not that we need more faith, but simply acting upon the faith God has already given you by believing God will answer your prayers of faith.
The fact that all Jesus has to do is speak a word should be sufficient. I have asked God to heal my wife of her horrific pain, day after day, night after night, year after year, believing all the way that all He has to do is just speak a word, and He could cause her stump to grow a new leg, and she would be alright. I couldn't pray that kind of prayer without believing it could happen, if God wills it to be.
After all, He spoke and the whole universe was created out of nothing. He spoke and the waters rose from the Dead Sea. He spoke and food came from heaven. He spoke a word and lepers were cleansed. He spoke and the seas calmed. He spoke and Lazarus was raised from the dead. He spoke and fed over 5000 men at one time with a couple of fish and a loaf of bread.
So don't think for a moment that God cannot do for you what He has done for others in the past. He may not do what exactly what you expect, but God will answer. He knows what is best for you and your faith, as the Holy Spirit is already making intercession for you, even if you don't know what to ask.
We all can take a lesson from the faith of that centurion. Let Jesus be Jesus and trust Him to do what is best for you. He knows your needs and has already made a way to provide for them before you ask - even if all He does is just say a word!
