Your Christian Character

1 Peter 1:13-16
Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 14 as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; 15 but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”

First, let me apologize for my tardiness in sending out a devotion. I have been rather consumed lately. My contract is ending the 1st of May and I am seeking employment after 27 years serving and supporting the U.S. Government. I am interviewing for a job with the Marine Corps, and hope to have an offer very soon.

Stresses and anxieties are something every single human being has to contend with now and again. Setbacks, challenges and other difficulties of life will and can bring us down. Depression, anger, and bitterness can quickly take over and catch us by surprise.

But if we shift our focus away from those worldly things and refocus our attention on the Lord, those troubled times of ours will soon pass the more we hand it over to God.

I have learned, and am continuing to learn how to trust God more. I am slowly learning that all my frustrations and anxious moments will not produce one good thing in me. Therefore, I must learn to lean on God, and walk worthy of the call He has placed on my life.

I believe that if we all would take a breather and pray to God for His strength and resolve, and ask Him for wisdom, instead of crying out in fear, we might just see God do something that will marvel us.

If we just learn to commit and apply our lives to holy living, our lives, and this world would be better off for sure. Let your troubles and challenges be a teaching moment for you to build you up in your Christian Character, so you can be holy in all your conduct.

Always remember who you are in Christ!

With the Lord's Love & Blessings,

Tom
